What you will do

• Own data models and documentation that encode the organization's key metrics and calculations.
• Build and maintain transformation logic using dbt to convert prototypes into version-controlled data products.
• Manage data quality and maintain a comprehensive catalog of active models and metrics.
• Integrate data from local databases, cloud storage, Google Analytics, and Salesforce into unified datasets.
• Optimize the performance and reliability of the analytics layer by automating manual workflows.
• Partner with the Senior Director of Data Science and BI colleagues to align data products with strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in data modeling and transformation.
• Strong SQL proficiency for writing and optimizing complex queries across large datasets.
• Python proficiency for data transformation and automation, including experience with git.
• Hands-on experience with dbt (preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, etc.).
• Must be based in New York, NY to follow a hybrid work model (2-5 days in-office).

Nice to have

• Experience in nonprofit, media, or mission-driven organizations.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, Google Analytics, or Salesforce data.
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
• Background in establishing data governance or semantic layers.
• Comfort with command-line tools and AI coding assistants.
