Transport Operator

What you will do

• Run end-of-shift debriefs with drivers, collecting feedback and discussing incidents or delays while confirming route completion.
• Brief drivers at the start of each shift on route instructions, schedules, customer requirements, and safety protocols.
• Verify driver licence validity to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
• Process delivery notes, POD documents, and other transport paperwork accurately and within deadlines.
• Record driver absences, escalate patterns of concern when required, and input non-conformance issues for resolution tracking.
• Coordinate with the traffic and transport planning team to address operational issues in real time and maintain secure logs of documents and sensitive data.

Requirements

• 5+ GCSEs or equivalent, with additional qualifications in logistics advantageous.
• Experience in transportation logistics, administrative support, or customer service in a fast-paced environment is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional interaction with drivers, customers, and team members.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
