What you will do

• Establish SOPs, ERP tracking, and workflows for import, export, and MoD shipping from scratch.
• Plan, book, and track international shipments of military and dual-use items while managing freight forwarders.
• Build a network of security-cleared border and port partners to manage logistics and customs contingencies.
• Issue all necessary shipping documentation and verify declarations via HMRC systems.
• Maintain real-time ERP logs and secure archives to ensure full readiness for government export audits.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in international logistics or freight forwarding within the defence sector.
• Working knowledge of UK export licensing frameworks (SIELs/OGELs) and SPIRE/LITE systems.
• Must be eligible to obtain or currently hold UK Security Clearance (SC).
• Expert knowledge of HS code classification, customs procedures, and Incoterms 2020.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, logistics management software, and data reporting.

Nice to have

• Dangerous Goods expertise (ADR, IATA, or IMDG).
• Experience supporting HMRC customs audits.
• Established network of UK port-side or airport-adjacent logistics providers.
• Valid IATA Dangerous Goods or ADR certification.
