R&D Technician (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop and execute tests on prospective and existing materials to improve product quality.
• Write detailed assembly instructions and test procedures, documenting build results and anomalies.
• Fabricate and assemble prototype articles and test hardware.
• Perform soft goods testing, including permeability, tensile strength, and environmental/thermal evaluations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D and manufacturing teams to iterate on designs.
• Manage inventory and maintain lab tooling and test equipment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in an engineering technician role.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in adverse conditions such as dirty or noisy spaces.
• Ability to handle ambiguity in an early-stage development environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace or startup environments.
• Experience with soft goods or electrical testing.
• Proficiency in parts ordering and basic inventory management.
