TL;DR

Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace): Developing manufacturing systems and build flows for high-power satellite assemblies and integrated avionics with an accent on design for manufacturability and custom tooling. Location: Los Angeles, CA

Salary: $100,000 – $140,000 + equity

hirify.global is a Series C startup building the largest and highest-power satellite platforms for missions ranging from LEO to deep space.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) for initial designs, flight hardware, and tooling.
  • Develop innovative manufacturing systems for large spacecraft assemblies, including electromechanical sub-assemblies and mechanisms.
  • Create custom tools and processes, including the implementation of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software.
  • Establish and iterate subassembly build flows to create an efficient production line for satellites.
  • Perform R&D on novel manufacturing technologies for current and future spacecraft products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in high-volume, rapid production environments.
  • Proven track record in product development, process improvement, and setting up production floors for first-article builds.
  • Experience in avionics subassembly manufacturing, specifically wire harnesses and PCBA/mechanical enclosure assembly.
  • Must be a "U.S. Person" (citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual) as defined by ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

  • Experience designing tooling for mechanical subassemblies and electronics.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (NX or equivalent) and GD&T.
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing standards (soldering, torque, welding, and QA).
  • Experience using MES for procedure creation and non-conformance documentation.
