TL;DR

What you will do

  • Own the engine-to-stage integration plan for turbopump-fed liquid propellant rocket engines, covering mechanical, fluid, electrical, and software interfaces.
  • Develop and verify propulsion system requirements, interface control documents, and verification plans.
  • Lead key propulsion system design reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR, QR) through the internal development process.
  • Perform system modeling and performance analysis for feed systems, pressurization, and operational margins.
  • Plan and execute hot-fire test campaigns and conduct root cause investigations on test data.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in rocket propulsion, launch vehicle systems, or high-performance aerospace hardware.
  • Strong understanding of liquid propulsion system architecture, including tanks, feed systems, and ignition.
  • Proficiency in first-principles propulsion analysis using Python, MATLAB, Simulink, NPSS, or similar tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Must be a documented U.S. Person or eligible to receive a trade license (ITAR/EAR compliance).

Nice to have

  • Direct experience with LOX/kerosene propulsion systems.
  • Experience leading propulsion development through the full PDR to FRR lifecycle.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced startup or hardware-rich development environment.
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers and raise technical rigor within a team.
