TL;DR

Sr. Electrical Design Engineer (Aerospace): Designing complex boards and subsystems for space-rated avionics with an accent on system architecture, schematics, and hardware validation. Location: Onsite in Phoenix, AZ. Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required.

Salary: $135,000–$155,000 Annually

What you will do

  • Own the electrical design lifecycle for complex boards and subsystems, from requirements to documentation.
  • Define system and block-level architectures, producing detailed schematics and block diagrams.
  • Validate designs through rigorous analysis and hands-on lab testing.
  • Provide PCB design guidance covering stack-up, routing, and SI/PI considerations.
  • Lead board bring-up and perform lab debugging.
  • Mentor junior engineers and coordinate efforts across multi-discipline teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on hardware/electrical design experience.
  • Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Cadence Allegro or Altium.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools including SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, and Mathcad.
  • Working knowledge of Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis and mitigation.
  • Eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of radiation-tolerant design and thermal vacuum testing for harsh environments.
  • Experience in both analog instrumentation and digital design implementation.
  • History of collaborating with SI/PI or FPGA teams using modeling evidence.
