Salary: $247,000–$337,500

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end IP strategy for the biologic patent portfolio, integrating global prosecution and third-party considerations.
• Draft, file, and prosecute strategic patent applications worldwide while managing outside counsel.
• Coordinate offensive and defensive patent challenges, including European oppositions, IPRs, PGRs, and litigation.
• Drive competitor intelligence efforts and freedom-to-operate analyses to inform actionable IP strategies.
• Provide legal advice to cross-functional R&D and business teams on IP-related matters and due diligence.
• Identify risks and whitespace opportunities across research and development programs.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in a life science discipline and J.D. from an accredited US law school.
• Member in good standing of a US State Bar and registered to practice before the USPTO.
• 15+ years of patent experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech sector.
• Significant in-house experience within a pharmaceutical or biotech company.
• Deep expertise in biologic patent prosecution, including viral gene therapy and protein biologics.
• Proven experience advising senior management on complex IP issues and risk assessment.
