Corporate Counsel (Biotech): Providing proactive legal support for global technical operations and facilities with an accent on environmental, health & safety (EHS) compliance, FDA/cGMP regulatory matters, and manufacturing agreements. Focus on advising on complex, high-stakes transactional and regulatory issues to empower the safe and efficient delivery of life-saving therapies.

Location: Must be based in South San Francisco, California. Remote work is not available.

Salary: $181,800 – $337,600

What you will do

• Provide strategic legal advice to PT sites, EHS departments, and global business units.
• Represent manufacturing sites on EHS compliance, sustainability, and environmental land use issues.
• Coordinate environmental due diligence and negotiate EHS provisions in complex contracts.
• Advise on regulatory matters under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, including cGMP and quality system requirements.
• Draft and negotiate manufacturing supply and development agreements.
• Manage outside counsel retained to support specific legal matters.

Requirements

• Must be based in South San Francisco, California (no remote work available).
• U.S. law degree (J.D.) and current admission to at least one U.S. state bar.
• 5+ years of EHS or manufacturing-related legal experience in a pharma/biotech or law firm setting.
• Strong business acumen and ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
• Commitment to working as a team player in a multinational legal department.
• Eligibility to apply to California’s Registered In-House Counsel program if not already admitted in CA.
