Engineering Director (Medtech)

Location: Remote (Must be authorized to work in the U.S.)

Compensation: $220K – $240K + Bonus

What you will do

• Oversee the success of Growth and Patient Portal teams, ensuring high reliability and delivery of company value with low defect rates.
• Own the QA and Product Support functions across all application teams to maintain high quality standards.
• Lead, coach, and develop engineering managers and senior individual contributors.
• Set and enforce a high technical quality bar and resolve complex technical problems spanning team boundaries.
• Partner with product, design, and clinical teams to ensure a seamless end-to-end patient experience.
• Collaborate with other Engineering Directors to drive consistent quality and velocity across the organization.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience and 4+ years of engineering management experience (including managing managers).
• Strong, current technical background with hands-on experience in React, TypeScript, and AWS.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (E-Verify participant).
• Enthusiasm and experience in adopting AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code.
• Proven track record of overseeing teams that consistently deliver high-reliability software.
• Strong communication skills and comfort with holding teams to a high performance bar through accountability.

Nice to have

• Experience with Next.js.
• Experience owning or partnering closely with QA and/or Product Support functions.
• Experience working in a HIPAA-compliant environment.
