Location: Remote (Must be based in the US)
Salary: $260,000 - $280,000 annually

What you will do
- Build and lead the SRE team from scratch, hiring 4-6 experienced staff in the first year.
- Professionalize incident management by defining and documenting processes and selecting supporting tools and vendors.
- Drive a culture of reliability and engineering excellence through design reviews, code reviews, and blameless retrospectives.
- Balance immediate incident response with the execution of a strategic roadmap for observability and reliability engineering.
- Mentor, coach, and develop SREs while recognizing and retaining high performers.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering leaders to define SLOs and drive ownership across teams.
Requirements
- Must be based in the United States.
- Demonstrated experience leading the hiring and growth of SRE or Infrastructure teams in remote environments.
- Deep hands-on experience with observability, including APM, logs, traces, and golden signals.
- Strong working knowledge of a major cloud provider, with AWS preferred.
- Experience in design practices such as Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) or RFCs.
- Proven ability to manage a strategic backlog against operational capacity constraints.
