Location: Must be based in New York, NY (hybrid: in person twice a week)

Salary: $192,500 - $275,000 base

What you will do

• Lead a cross-functional team of backend, web, and mobile engineers to define roadmaps, plans, and goals.
• Guide system architecture for onboarding, compliance (KYC/identity), and customer support workflows serving millions of users.
• Raise engineering standards through high-quality code reviews, design reviews, testing, and CI/CD.
• Drive the adoption and evolution of AI coding tools and an agentic development pipeline.
• Manage hiring plans, performance coaching, and career growth for team members.
• Collaborate with product managers, project managers, and business owners to resolve ambiguity and break down complex requirements.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software development and delivery.
• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams and delivering customer-facing software.
• Expertise in full-stack systems built with Scala, Java (or similar), and React Native.
• Experience building consumer-facing applications with a strong product and UX mindset.
• Must be based in New York, NY and able to work from the office twice a week.

Nice to have

• Experience in the crypto or fintech industry.
• Experience with onboarding, identity/KYC, or customer support tooling.
• Experience building or operating AI agents or agentic workflows in production.
