What you will do

• Direct and manage the Controls & Automation Team, providing technical leadership, coaching, and development.
• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of PLCs, HMI/SCADA, and industrial networking systems.
• Develop and maintain automation standards, system documentation, and best practices.
• Analyze production and equipment performance data to identify improvement opportunities and reduce downtime.
• Manage automation projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring scope, budget, and schedule are met.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and R&D to ensure compliance with GMPs and food safety requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Minimum 5+ years of automation and controls experience in food, beverage, dairy, pharma, or CPG manufacturing.
• Expertise in Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation PLC platforms (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Studio 5000).
• Proficiency with industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, IO-Link) and SCADA/HMI platforms (Ignition, FactoryTalk, AVEVA).
• Ability to work onsite at the City of Industry, CA facility, including potential nights, weekends, or holidays.
• Strong understanding of process instrumentation, VFDs, and electrical control systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with Siemens PLC platforms.
• Experience with direct and indirect pasteurization systems (e.g., Tetra VTIS).
• Knowledge of MES, ISA-95 standards, and SAP integration.
