TL;DR

Operations Supervisor - 2nd Shift (Aerospace): Managing 2nd shift manufacturing operations for the Space and Defense Group with an accent on operational excellence, continuous improvement, and team leadership. Focus on driving root-cause and corrective-action efforts (RCCA), optimizing material flow, and ensuring strict adherence to standard work and safety protocols.

Location: Onsite in Salt Lake City, UT

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 Annually

What you will do

  • Provide hands-on leadership, including performance management, scheduling, training, and professional development.
  • Lead root-cause and corrective-action efforts (RCCA) to promote a strong culture of operational discipline.
  • Coordinate material flow to work cells and ensure standard work is accurate and achievable.
  • Collaborate with Value Stream Managers and Lean leaders to support and implement process improvements.
  • Manage Job Safety Analysis (JSA) creation and perform annual reviews to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Develop leadership bench strength for upcoming programs and mitigate attrition risks.

Requirements

  • Must be based in or be able to relocate to Salt Lake City, UT.
  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing operations experience, specifically within aerospace or defense manufacturing environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of assembly and test operations, complex mechanical/electrical builds, or precision manufacturing.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, work instructions, engineering change orders (ECOs), and test procedures.
  • Solid understanding of Lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, value-stream mapping, and waste reduction.
  • Must have authorization to access U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing skilled technicians in a manufacturing setting.
  • Working knowledge of TWI training and experience creating Job Breakdown Sheets.
  • Experience leading Kata and Kaizen events.
