Field Solutions Engineer (Public Sector)

Location: Remote, but residence in the state of Texas is required to support the Dallas/Fort Worth territory; travel to SHI, partner, and customer events is required.

Estimated annual pay range: $160,000–$220,000, including base salary and bonus.

What you will do

• Evaluate customer data center environments and infrastructure technologies with account teams.
• Design and propose infrastructure solutions aligned with customer business objectives, needs, and budgets.
• Identify opportunities across data center, cloud, network, security, collaboration, and services.
• Build technical relationships with OEMs and strategic partners and stay current on product information.
• Provide product training, technical education, and technical selling guidance to sales teams and customers.
• Develop solution-practice pipeline strategies and advise customer stakeholders including CIOs, IT directors, and CTOs.

Requirements

• Must reside in Texas for this remote role.
• Three to five years of experience in a similar role and experience with complex data center sales opportunities.
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
• Ability to design infrastructures involving hybrid cloud, hyperconverged systems, software-defined data centers, IaaS/PaaS, automation, containerization, and data center management platforms.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization, hypervisors, server virtualization, software-defined data centers, containerization, automation, and disaster recovery.
• Expertise with mainstream technologies including Dell Technologies, NetApp, HPE, Cisco, Pure Storage, Azure, AWS, Veeam, and Nutanix.
