Director of Technology - Core Banking (Fintech)

Location: Remote for residents of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, California, or Virginia. Washington residents within reasonable driving distance of Tukwila must work from headquarters on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; other approved-location residents work remotely.

Salary: $199,300–$243,800 target annual pay range; full annual pay range of $155,200–$288,000. Performance-based incentives are also available.

What you will do

• Develop technology strategy and business cases aligned with organizational priorities.
• Lead engineering, technical requirements, and end-to-end delivery for enterprise core banking initiatives.
• Build technology roadmaps and coordinate sequencing, dependencies, governance, and delivery across multiple teams.
• Drive platform modernization and engineering excellence across cloud, data, APIs, DevOps, automation, testing, and CI/CD.
• Coach and develop technology leaders and team members while building a high-performing, agile organization.
• Manage strategic initiatives, operating plans, financial planning, vendors, implementation partners, OKRs, and KPIs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field.
• At least 7 years of people-leadership experience, including technology and delivery teams.
• At least 8 years of information technology experience with application design, large-scale platforms, or program delivery.
• Experience with ERP, infrastructure and operations, or financial products such as core banking, credit cards, mortgages, auto loans, or deposits.
• Experience building technology platforms and teams, driving end-to-end delivery, and coordinating across teams.
• Experience with enterprise delivery, stakeholder collaboration, and complex technology environments.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree.
• Experience with core banking platforms or financial system implementations such as Fiserv or DNA.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional programs with dependencies, vendors, APIs, integrations, and cloud environments.
• Agile/Scrum delivery experience and knowledge of modern architecture, CI/CD, testing, and operations.
• Experience managing technology vendors and implementation partners.
