Fiber Superintendent

What you will do

• Manage and schedule employees, contractors, and subcontractors to complete fiber optic projects on time
• Ensure contractors and subcontractors execute and comply with their contracted scope of work
• Lead, direct, train, and supervise foremen and crews; ensure quality of work
• Maintain daily written logs and plot plans for job-site activities
• Promote and enforce the company safety program and safety culture across crews and vendors
• Complete projects on time and under budget while coordinating with Operations and Engineering to resolve quality issues

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing teams (preferably data center cabling technicians)
• 3+ years of direct data center experience installing and routing optical fiber in large-scale Tier 3 or 4 facilities
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as site operational needs require
• Subject to pre-employment drug testing and random drug/alcohol testing; subject to pre-employment and annual background checks
• Physical ability to work in tight quarters and handle exposure to noise

Nice to have

• Journeyman certificate or postsecondary diploma/engineering degree in a related discipline
• Experience understanding and managing the critical path of data center projects through commissioning, including Method of Procedures (MOP)
• Expertise in construction industry methods/specifications and contract language risk mitigation
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Project)
