What you will do

• Own and evolve the metered billing system, balancing reliability, scale, and developer velocity.
• Work across the full stack, including backend services, APIs, and frontend experiences.
• Guide teams in developing testing plans, defining success metrics, and integrating customer feedback.
• Mentor and grow engineers through pairing, code reviews, and technical leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across hirify.global and Microsoft on shared technical problems.
• Participate in on-call rotations and drive reliability improvements based on operational learnings.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• 7-9+ years of experience in software engineering with production-level coding in languages like Go, Java, Ruby, Python, or Rust.
• Proven experience designing and operating services on cloud platforms such as Azure.
• Strong technical judgment and ability to drive architectural decisions through RFCs and design documentation.
• Experience mentoring engineers and raising the quality bar through technical leadership.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience building and operating Go services at scale.
• Experience with JavaScript and frontend frameworks like React.
• Background in building or operating high-stakes transactional systems like billing or invoicing.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows such as hirify.global Copilot.
