Backend Engineer (AI Finance)

Location: United Kingdom, London; hybrid work with at least 3 days per week in the UK office

hirify.global builds digital financial products, including insurance and AI-powered finance applications, for customers across Southeast Asia.

What you will do

• Build backend services, APIs, and workflows for the AI Neobank app.
• Support products across insurance, payments, wallets, savings, investing, travel, and other financial services.
• Design systems for user accounts, transactions, partner integrations, reconciliation, notifications, and operations.
• Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, data providers, and other partners.
• Work with product and mobile teams to deliver customer-facing journeys.
• Improve system reliability, observability, security, and performance.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, system design, and production debugging.
• Experience building scalable services and integrating third-party systems.
• Understanding of security, reliability, data quality, and operational edge cases.
• Ability to balance speed, quality, and risk while working with changing product requirements.
• Strong English communication is required, and the role requires working from the UK office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, payments, insurance, lending, banking, or other regulated products.
• Experience owning production issues and long-term system reliability.
