Senior Software Engineer, Money (Fintech)

Location: New York, New York; Miami, Florida; Remote (USA). The role follows a hybrid approach at US hub offices, while employees who do not live near a hub may work remotely. All employees must onboard in person at one of the office locations.

Salary: $140,000–$200,000 base salary annually in the State of New York, excluding discretionary bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, and support ledger and payments services recording crypto and fiat money movement.
• Build bank settlement and reconciliation pipelines connecting to payment rails and banking partners.
• Design scalable APIs and data models for new transaction types, products, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify correctness, consistency, security, and operational risks and implement software safeguards.
• Monitor system health, participate in incident response, and remediate production issues.
• Collaborate with finance, reconciliation, and treasury teams and mentor engineers on production-ready functionality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building backend systems in production.
• Strong experience designing and operating distributed, stateful systems where data integrity is critical.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language; Scala and Go are primarily used.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Ability to debug complex behavior across services and data stores and collaborate with cross-functional partners.

Nice to have

• Experience with ledger systems, accounting platforms, payments infrastructure, or financial transaction processing.
• Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, reconciliation, audit requirements, or regulatory reporting.
• Experience integrating ACH, wire, card networks, or other banking payment rails.
• Familiarity with Temporal or Cadence for durable financial workflows.
• Background in fintech or financial services.
