What you will do

• Define and drive long-term technical architecture across core payments, platform, and data systems.
• Design scalable, resilient, and secure distributed systems for global B2B payment processing.
• Lead complex, cross-functional engineering initiatives and modernization efforts to reduce technical debt.
• Drive AI transformation by implementing AI agents, LLM workflows, and intelligent automation.
• Shape strategy for stablecoins, blockchain, and modern payment rails.
• Mentor senior engineers and serve as a trusted technical advisor to executive leadership.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada
• Approximately 12–18 years of software engineering experience.
• Proven experience operating at Staff+, Senior Staff, or Principal Engineer level.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, backend architecture, microservices, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience in fintech, payments, or high-scale, highly regulated environments.
• Strong ability to influence technical strategy and communicate complex trade-offs to executive audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with B2B or cross-border payment settlement, reconciliation, or ledgering.
• Background in AI agents, LLM integrations, or machine learning platforms.
• Knowledge of blockchain infrastructure, digital wallets, or crypto payments.
