What you will do

• Own the technical integrity and architectural strategy for the HRIS product domain.
• Partner with Product Management and Engineering leadership to align technical roadmaps with business goals.
• Produce high-level designs, sequence diagrams, and interface definitions for five engineering teams.
• Define and maintain engineering standards, shared libraries, and architectural governance.
• Lead architectural reviews and provide technical sign-off for complex initiatives.
• Establish standards for integrating AI and LLM capabilities into the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US or Canada
• 10+ years of Java development experience with architectural leadership in enterprise SaaS.
• Deep expertise in Distributed Systems, Microservices, and Event-Driven Design.
• Expert-level knowledge of Spring Boot 3.x and Java 17/21+.
• Strong expertise in Oracle RDBMS and PL/SQL.
• Proven ability to lead technical direction and influence stakeholders without daily hands-on coding.

Nice to have

• Experience leading legacy monolithic migrations to Microservices or SOA.
• Knowledge of modern frontend frameworks, specifically Angular.
• Experience with AWS infrastructure strategy (ECS, RDS, Lambda) and Terraform.
• Knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC and multi-tenant isolation patterns.
• Experience architecting high-concurrency environments using RabbitMQ.
