Senior Program Manager (Defense)

TL;DR

Senior Program Manager (Defense): Leading the execution of the Aerospace Readiness Enterprise System (ARES) Production program for the DoD with an accent on government stakeholder management and large-scale program delivery. Focus on managing cost, schedule, and scope while leading cross-functional Agile teams in a high-visibility federal environment.

Location: Remote (U.S.). Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold an active Secret Clearance.

What you will do

• Lead the execution and delivery of large-scale, mission-critical federal programs (ARES).
• Act as the primary interface with Government Agreements Officers (AO and AOR).
• Manage integrated program schedules, sprint velocity, and delivery forecasts to meet government milestones.
• Oversee program risk registers, financial performance, budgets, and contractual compliance.
• Mentor Program and Project Managers while promoting best practices in delivery.
• Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and organizational quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• 8–12 years of experience managing large federal government programs valued at $10M+.
• Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance and U.S. Citizenship.
• Strong understanding of FAR and DFARS regulations.
• PMP certification or equivalent experience.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical teams in software development or defense.

Nice to have

• Master's degree (MBA, Management, or Engineering).
• Active Top Secret Clearance.
• Familiarity with DoDI 5000.87 or other DoD acquisition frameworks.
• PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification.
