Senior Java Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Ukraine; remote work

What you will do

• Build and operate backend services and HTTP APIs using Java, Python, and FastAPI.
• Develop conversational and agentic workflows with LangGraph, including routing, context management, guardrails, streaming, and guided shopping experiences.
• Define service contracts and integrate search, personalization, shopper profile, LLM, and other platform services.
• Deliver production-ready software through testing, monitoring, performance optimization, rollout planning, and operational support.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, data scientists, and domain service teams.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to reliable, maintainable architecture.

Requirements

• Professional experience building and operating backend services with Java or Python.
• Strong knowledge of HTTP APIs, microservice design, service boundaries, data modeling, automated testing, and production operations.
• Experience with AWS, cloud application deployment, SQL databases, data access layers, caching, and storage solutions.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, complexity analysis, distributed service integration, and schema-based communication.
• Familiarity with FastAPI, LangChain or LangGraph, LLM integrations, agent orchestration, asynchronous processing, and stateful workflows.
• Upper-Intermediate English level or higher; strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Experience with search, recommendation engines, personalization platforms, marketplaces, or other consumer-facing products.
