Senior Java Software Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Build and operate backend services and APIs using Java, Python, and FastAPI.
• Contribute to conversational and agentic workflows with LangGraph, including routing, context management, guardrails, streaming, and guided shopping.
• Integrate search, personalization, shopper profile, LLM, and other consumer platform services.
• Define service contracts and develop scalable, maintainable backend architecture.
• Deliver production-ready software through testing, monitoring, performance optimization, and rollout planning.
• Support observability, troubleshoot production issues, and maintain service health and stability.

Requirements

• Professional experience building and operating backend services with Java or Python.
• Strong knowledge of HTTP APIs, microservices, service boundaries, data modeling, automated testing, and production operations.
• Proficiency with AWS and cloud-based application development and deployment.
• Experience with SQL databases, data access layers, caching strategies, and storage solutions.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, complexity analysis, distributed service integration, and asynchronous processing.
• Familiarity with FastAPI, LangChain or LangGraph, LLM integrations, observability, and production readiness practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and evolving architecture.

Nice to have

• Experience with search, recommendation engines, personalization platforms, marketplaces, or other consumer-facing products.
