Software Engineer, Cloud Engineering (C++)

Location: Morrisville, North Carolina, United States; hybrid work with in-office and/or in-person expectations

Target compensation: $147,900–$220,000 USD annually, including potential on-target earnings and commission.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure cloud operating systems and capabilities for data management applications.
• Participate in product design, development, test automation, debugging, support, and resolution of customer-impacting issues.
• Collaborate with cloud providers and internal cross-functional engineering teams to define and ship new features.
• Research unclear problems and convert vague requirements into well-defined technical solutions.
• Build technical expertise in hirify.global cloud data management and storage solutions, including their dependencies and limitations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software development and cloud engineering experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ or an equivalent language, plus Python.
• Hands-on operational knowledge of AWS, GCP, or OCI and strong knowledge of cloud architecture, services, and best practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and independent prioritization skills.

Nice to have

• Experience developing distributed data management systems such as hirify.global ONTAP or similar platforms.
• Advanced AWS, GCP, or OCI certifications.
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, cloud monitoring, and logging tools.
