Specialist Software Engineer (Cloud)

Location: Hybrid position requiring three days in office per week at a U.S. hub location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; or Denver, Colorado. Moderate travel of 10–25% may be required. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Salary: $135,000–$150,000 annually, plus potential eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead complex architectural analysis and translate enterprise guidance into detailed technical designs.
• Design, code, test, implement, and document web and cloud solutions for business needs.
• Develop distributed systems, microservices, REST APIs, and integrations using third-party frameworks, open-source libraries, and APIs.
• Lead large design sessions, development meetings, committees, and organization-wide technology standards initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership and subject-matter expertise to internal, contract, and offshore development staff.
• Evaluate solutions based on cost, business requirements, system impact, and long-term platform strategy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering, or another technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Six years of experience with Core Java or .NET and expertise in software architecture, object-oriented programming, frameworks, and dependency injection.
• Five years of experience with database design, plus in-depth knowledge of NoSQL technologies such as Cosmos DB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.
• Three years of experience with AWS or Azure cloud services and related support tools.
• Five years of experience with integration and service frameworks, microservices, REST APIs, messaging tools, and API gateways.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of advanced analytics, machine learning, big data, real-time streaming, data warehousing, and ETL.
• AWS, Microsoft, or Appian certification.
• Financial services industry experience.
