Data Engineer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Location: Hybrid role based in Manchester, UK. Requires a minimum of 50% of working time per month in the office, with an initial period of full-time office attendance for onboarding.

What you will do

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and refine data requirements.
• Develop and maintain scalable Data Warehousing solutions.
• Automate ELT pipelines using modern CI/CD practices.
• Design efficient data integration and produce clear data models.
• Ensure data integrity through automated testing and compliance with governance policies.
• Recommend and implement new technologies to enhance the data platform.

Requirements

• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Proficiency in Python and data transformation tools like DBT.
• Strong understanding of Data Warehouse/Kimball methodology.
• Experience with CI/CD automation (e.g., Jenkins) and Git-based version control.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for technical and non-technical collaboration.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Manchester, UK for hybrid work.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and AWS CDK.
• Knowledge of Docker and container orchestration.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
• Experience in financial services or e-commerce sectors.
• Exposure to AI tools such as CoPilot or Snowflake Cortex.
