Senior BI Developer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Senior BI Developer (Power BI/Snowflake): Designing and maintaining data assets for a direct-to-consumer investment platform with an accent on reporting, analytics, and customer marketing capabilities. Focus on developing enterprise-level semantic models, optimizing complex SQL queries, and building high-impact Power BI dashboards to drive strategic decision-making.

Location: Hybrid (minimum 50% of working time per month spent in the office in Manchester or London)

What you will do

• Design and deliver data products and reports in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and enterprise-level semantic models including user and data permissions management.
• Collaborate with data engineers to build ETL processes, data pipelines, and data models.
• Own and optimize data models and KPI definitions to ensure consistency across the business.
• Support analysts and researchers with data-driven initiatives and reliable data access.
• Promote data literacy and adhere to data governance frameworks to resolve quality and integrity issues.

Requirements

• Mid to senior level experience in data engineering, BI, and data architecture within data-intensive environments.
• Expert knowledge of end-to-end enterprise BI using Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and semantic modeling.
• Advanced SQL skills for query development, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of data architecture (Snowflake preferred) and dimensional modeling (star schema).
• Experience with Agile delivery methodologies, testing, and deployment processes.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical data solutions and maintain comprehensive documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with marketing orchestration platforms (e.g., Bloomreach) or reverse ETL tools (e.g., HighTouch).
• Knowledge of digital data tools such as Google Analytics and BigQuery.
• Proficiency in change management using JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience using AI agents for code creation and process efficiency.
