Senior Facilities Mechanical Engineer (Industrial/High-Tech)

What you will do

• Lead mechanical design and infrastructure integration across the full project lifecycle.
• Develop Basis of Design, Scope of Work, scope documents, client specifications, and construction requirements.
• Perform code assessments, HAZOP reviews, and engineering calculations for HVAC, process cooling water, exhaust, fire protection, and high-purity process piping systems.
• Manage retrofit and expansion projects, including equipment sizing, selection, and specification.
• Coordinate with system owners, trade contractors, stakeholders, and design-build teams.
• Oversee on-site construction and system integration, interpreting P&IDs, layouts, and equipment plans to troubleshoot field issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 10+ years of practical experience in facilities mechanical design, including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, and plumbing.
• 5+ years of experience managing design project delivery.
• Strong knowledge of ASME, ASME B31.3, building and fire codes, and ASHRAE standards.
• Ability to review vendor submittals against complex specifications.
• Comfort with active industrial environments, construction-site walking, climbing, and field-based troubleshooting.

Nice to have

• PE or EIT licensure.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM360.
