What you will do

• Research emerging techniques in retrieval, reasoning, and agentic AI to inform the product roadmap.
• Prototype new ideas quickly and translate successful experiments into shipped, production-grade features.
• Develop and maintain full-stack systems, from Agents Schema pipelines to the Context Catalog UI.
• Contribute to AISQL capabilities, enabling natural language to SQL grounded in dbt metric definitions.
• Ensure production reliability through on-call rotations, incident response, and SRE work.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to shape the future of the AI tooling market.

Requirements

• 5+ years of programming experience in Python and/or Java.
• Proven ability to move fluidly across the full stack, including backend, frontend, SRE, and QA.
• Experience with SQL and data warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Databricks.
• Ability to read AI/ML research and turn findings into working prototypes.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Oakland, CA office.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM-powered applications, RAG pipelines, embeddings, or agent frameworks.
• Familiarity with semantic layers like dbt, LookML, or Sigma.
• Experience with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) ecosystem.
• Background in SRE (monitoring, alerting) or cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker).
• Contributions to open source AI or data projects.
