What you will do

• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical failures in refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
• Install and commission HVAC machinery, including heat pumps and air conditioners.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections on refrigeration systems.
• Calibrate and repair specialized cooling systems for data centers and laboratory environmental chambers.
• Interpret schematics and blueprints to facilitate equipment installation and diagnostics.
• Act as a trainer and mentor for apprentices in the trade.

Requirements

• Red Seal or BCTQ Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Certification.
• 3-5 years of related experience in an industrial setting.
• Valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s license.
• Thorough knowledge of mechanical trades practices and demonstrated troubleshooting ability.
• Capability to work in a team environment and effectively meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of the safe utilization of power and hand tools.

Nice to have

• 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate.
