Journeyman Maintenance Technician (Nunavut)

Journeyman Maintenance Technician (Infrastructure/Facilities): Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing critical infrastructure in remote camp facilities with an accent on gas, plumbing, electrical systems, and commercial appliances. Focus on ensuring system reliability in extreme Arctic conditions and performing OEM-recommended preventative maintenance.

Location: Onsite (Nunavut, Canada). Fly-in/fly-out from Edmonton, AB or Yellowknife, NT.

What you will do

• Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on heating, water, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair ticketed commercial kitchen equipment and foodservice appliances.
• Inspect and maintain propane/natural gas piping and appliances, conducting leak tests and pressure checks.
• Maintain potable water systems, sewage treatment, and perform winterization in Arctic conditions.
• Repair electrical systems, power distribution, and generators in compliance with CSA/CEC standards.
• Complete daily Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs) and ensure strict adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

• Valid Journeyperson certification in Gas fitting, Plumbing, or Electrical (Red Seal preferred).
• Minimum 2–3 years of licensed experience in commercial, industrial, or camp maintenance.
• Ticketed commercial appliance competency (e.g., CFESA certifications).
• Must be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol Test, Health Assessment, and Criminal Background Check.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
• Ability to work in a remote camp environment with a 4 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation.
