Senior CAE Body Systems Engineer

Senior CAE Body Systems Engineer: Perform structural analysis to lead and execute development of new body system architectures and variants with an accent on FEA/quasi-static planning, efficient integrated design solutions, and performance confirmation. Focus on driving method development to reduce physical testing, and coordinating CAE resources and suppliers to deliver program milestones.

Location: Warren, Michigan (Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote; must be able to report to the local office)

What you will do

• Lead and execute structural analysis for new body system architectures and subsequent variants.
• Drive design and performance through appropriate analyses, providing clear design direction and confirming performance.
• Develop and execute Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and quasi-static analysis plans for assigned projects.
• Support hardware elimination by leading Global Focus Groups and driving method development to replace physical test-based methods.
• Lead internal resources and CAE suppliers to meet program milestones and deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Five (5) years of experience as a CAE Engineer, Automotive Engineer, or related role.
• Three (3) years of experience with LS-Dyna and ABAQUS, understanding FMVSS requirements, and developing/enhancing new virtual techniques to replace physical test-based methods.
• Two (2) years of experience with Hypermesh and Optistruct, refining/improving automotive structure designs via FEA and quasi-static simulations, and using optimization techniques for cost and mass efficient structural solutions with high reliability.
• Hybrid work requirement: must be able to report to the local office in Warren, Michigan.
