TL;DR

CAE Brake Systems Integration Engineer (Automotive): Leading the integration of brake system co-simulation packages and virtual models for foundation brake and control calibration with an accent on multi-domain model integration and system dynamics. Focus on enabling cutting-edge software development, validating braking performance across EV/PHEV/ICE platforms, and driving the transition to virtual engineering methods.

Location: Must be based in Warren, Michigan. This role is hybrid and requires reporting to the office at least 3 times a week.

What you will do

  • Develop high-fidelity virtual models for hydraulic and electric brake systems coupling physical dynamics and control software.
  • Integrate multi-domain models into co-simulation environments to support software calibration and validation.
  • Align software and hardware release milestones to ensure virtual vehicle packages remain current.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for brake system co-simulation users and resolve program-related technical issues.
  • Build and maintain a library of mechatronics modules for program-specific applications.
  • Perform closed-loop learning to validate model performance and improve fidelity using real-world vehicle data.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Software Engineering/Computer Science.
  • 2+ years of relevant engineering experience in product development, analysis, or validation.
  • 2+ years of experience in brake system controls.
  • Strong understanding of brake system physics and control theory.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required.

Nice to have

  • MS in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Experience with CAE tools, tire modeling, and manufacturing processes (casting, forging, machining).
  • Hands-on automotive experience with vehicle building or testing.
  • Participation in collegiate competitive teams like Formula SAE or EcoCAR.
