Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to Warren, Michigan. This role is hybrid and requires reporting to the office at least three times per week.

What you will do

• Lead advanced technology work (ATW) project teams in developing integrated thermal design solutions.
• Define project scope, key performance metrics, and execution plans for new propulsion concepts.
• Deliver comprehensive packages confirming thermal performance, manufacturing impact, cost, and system integration.
• Collaborate with vehicle thermal, propulsion, and battery teams to ensure design alignment.
• Partner with VDDV teams to utilize 1D analysis and 3D CFD tools for performance assessment.
• Benchmark industry trends and engage with suppliers and startups to implement innovative technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience in product engineering or a relevant field.
• Strong understanding of first-principles in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
• Proven experience leading complex technical projects with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to distill ambiguous customer requests into quantifiable project deliverables.
• Must be able to work on-site in Warren, Michigan, at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in propulsion or thermal engineering.
• Experience with 1D (GT Power) or 3D CFD (STAR-CCM+) analysis tools.
• Production launch and project management experience.
• Design experience with Unigraphics NX or similar CAD software.
