Senior Mainframe Systems Developer (COBOL)

What you will do

• Scope, design, develop, test, and support complex enterprise information systems.
• Translate business requirements into robust COBOL, SQL, and system procedures.
• Own the architecture and maintenance of large-scale batch processing cycles.
• Optimize system capacity, throughput, response times, and data integrity.
• Provide technical escalation support, investigate failures, and perform root-cause analysis.
• Lead project phases, mentor less-experienced programmers, and align technical solutions with financial operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent technical experience.
• At least 3 years of systems and programming experience.
• At least 1 year of expert-level COBOL experience.
• Proven experience with mainframe information technology environments and SQL.
• Experience with complex batch enrollment and financial data processing in a high-volume production environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical ownership skills.

• Experience independently leading large, complex project workstreams.
