Mainframe Software Engineer II (COBOL)

Location: Columbus, Georgia, United States. The position is only open to candidates who currently live locally and work in a hybrid model with up to 3 days per week in the office.

What you will do

• Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle within an Agile Scrum team.
• Design, develop, debug, test, implement, and maintain moderately complex mainframe applications.
• Create program specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, flow diagrams, and application documentation.
• Analyze architectures, designs, non-functional requirements, code deficiencies, and validation strategies.
• Advise on application standards, controls, procedures, monitoring, data accuracy, and PCI security compliance.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, product owners, clients, vendors, and leadership on solution design and delivery.

Requirements

• Must currently live locally in the Columbus, Georgia area and be able to work from the office up to 3 days per week.
• Must be legally authorized to work full-time in the United States without current or future immigration sponsorship.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Typically 2 or more years of professional experience in coding, designing, developing, and analyzing data.
• Required: COBOL, IMS, and DB2.
• Experience with mainframe systems, CICS, File Manager, Agile/Scrum, relational or NoSQL databases, APIs, and enterprise programming technologies.

Nice to have

• Two to four or more years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience with IBM Rational Tools.
