Software Engineer (Java/Python)

Location: Phoenix, Arizona or Charlotte, North Carolina. Hybrid schedule with three days in the office per week.

What you will do

• Consult on complex software engineering initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning requirements.
• Analyze and resolve multifaceted, long-term engineering challenges involving multiple technical and business factors.
• Develop backend and data-driven solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and Python.
• Build reactive and event-driven systems with WebFlux, Apache Kafka, and Flink.
• Develop RESTful APIs and work with MongoDB and Oracle databases.
• Collaborate with client personnel and contribute to deliverables aligned with policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience; the role summary also specifies 5+ years or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of Java experience with Spring or Spring Boot.
• 2+ years of Python experience focused on backend or data-driven development.
• Strong understanding of reactive programming, including WebFlux, plus hands-on Apache Kafka experience.
• Experience with Flink, MongoDB, Oracle, and RESTful APIs.
• Must be able to work on a W-2 basis in the United States; C2C and 1099 arrangements are not accepted.

Nice to have

• Banking industry experience.
• Cloud technology experience.
• Exposure to LLMs, agentic architectures, and prompt engineering.
• Familiarity with ADK, Playbook, or similar agentic frameworks.
