Senior Sustainability Project Manager

Location: Atlanta, Georgia preferred; hybrid office/remote schedule available. Minimal travel.

Employee-owned engineering and professional services firm providing integrated engineering and sustainability consulting across buildings, infrastructure, clean energy, healthcare, education, and other industries.

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of projects pursuing third-party sustainability certifications from strategic development through certification award and, where applicable, recertification.
• Prepare certification forms, annotations, and compliance documentation, and conduct technical reviews of building design, construction, and operations.
• Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews of work completed by Specialists.
• Lead, mentor, schedule, and support the professional development of a small team of Specialists.
• Coordinate with Certifications, Consulting, Development, ESG, Energy Modeling, Decarbonization, Performance Testing, and Commissioning teams.
• Support business development through conferences, speaking engagements, networking, marketing content, proposals, and client acquisition.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of direct project management experience in sustainability consulting or a closely related field.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in architecture, engineering, policy, environmental studies, or a related field; relevant professional training may substitute.
• LEED AP with Specialty required.
• Working knowledge of multiple sustainability frameworks, including LEED, WELL, SITES, Fitwel, Green Globes, Guiding Principles, Parksmart, and/or Living Building Challenge.
• Experience guiding projects through complete certification cycles and documenting compliance with rating-system requirements.
• Ability to interpret building plans, construction specifications, mechanical schedules, commissioning reports, and operational policies.

Nice to have

• Accreditation such as SITES AP, Fitwel Ambassador, LFA, TRUE Advisor, or Parksmart Advisor.
• Experience managing or mentoring a small professional team.
• Technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, landscape design, zoning, or urban development.
• Fluency in Portuguese, Spanish, French, or German.
