Senior Software Engineer, AI-Accelerated Digital Commerce

Location: Hybrid, with in-office attendance at least three times per week in Austin, TX; Warren, MI; Sunnyvale, CA; or Mountain View, CA.

Salary: $129,400–$198,400 per year, plus potential incentive pay.

What you will do

• Build and enhance customer-facing digital commerce experiences across catalog, cart, checkout, billing, payments, subscriptions, orders, and customer accounts.
• Use AI-assisted workflows for implementation, code review, testing, debugging, documentation, and understanding existing codebases.
• Evaluate AI output for correctness, security, maintainability, and production readiness.
• Develop modern web applications and services using React, Next.js, Node.js, Java, and related frameworks.
• Design and evolve APIs and microservices with emphasis on performance, reliability, maintainability, and cost.
• Partner with product, design, architecture, operations, and other cross-functional teams while improving testing, automation, observability, and code review practices.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience coding, debugging, and conducting code reviews with object-oriented languages such as Java and Node.js.
• 5–7 years of API and system design experience with microservices.
• Practical experience using AI for coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and codebase analysis.
• Experience with React, Next.js, Node.js, Java, and modern web application architecture.
• Strong engineering discipline in test automation, operational automation, and DevOps practices.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with attendance at a listed U.S. location at least three times per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with digital commerce or other customer-facing digital platforms.
• Exposure to Shopify or similar commerce ecosystems.
• Exposure to Model Context Protocol, LangChain, retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, AI agents, or evaluation frameworks.
• Experience helping teams adopt practical AI development workflows.
