Senior Principal Software Development Engineer, Consumer AI Architect

Location: Flexible hybrid model. In-person interviews may be required, particularly for positions based in the Boston and Dublin offices.

Salary: $191,000–$239,000 USD annual base salary.

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy consumer-facing AI experiences across data, model, platform, and user-facing product layers for approximately 45 million monthly visitors.
• Act as the technical AI advisor for Consumer AI projects, guiding architecture, design, implementation, and technology trade-offs.
• Guide infrastructure decisions for AI deployments, including storage, memory, request handling, load management, evaluation pipelines, observability, and analytics.
• Build and operate production agentic and LLM-based applications using LangChain, LangGraph, Langfuse, and Python.
• Define engineering patterns, tools, standards, and roadmaps for agentic programming and consumer AI initiatives.
• Mentor engineers, conduct workshops, document architectural decisions, and share AI development and operational best practices across teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience architecting resilient, scalable systems and leading technical direction across multiple teams.
• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and deploying consumer-facing AI experiences in production.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, Langfuse, Python, and AI platform and infrastructure layers.
• Broad knowledge of AI frameworks and tooling, with the ability to evaluate approaches independently of a specific language or ecosystem.
• Hands-on full-stack experience across frontend, backend, platform, and infrastructure layers, including APIs and REST services.
• Experience defining engineering standards, influencing technical direction, communicating across disciplines, and mentoring engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience building APIs and REST services in Java.
• Experience building UX applications in React.
• Experience with the AWS ecosystem.
• Experience with agentic programming and multi-agent workflows.
