Principal Software Engineer (Digital Twin and Simulation)

Location: Onsite five days a week at the Irving, Texas office. Domestic relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $147,760–$240,110 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the development of the full-stack digital twin and simulation software stack.
• Define architecture, translate business requirements into software designs, and implement engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with robotics and other technical teams to align platform capabilities with operational needs.
• Mentor software engineers and support hiring, technical interviews, and onboarding.
• Establish engineering, QA/QC, agile, peer review, and software development standards and processes.
• Lead CI/CD discussions, brainstorming sessions, and technical ideation.

Requirements

• Experience building simulation and rendering platforms, including 3D object rendering and manipulation.
• Experience with mapping technologies such as GIS, terrain mapping, or OpenLayers.
• Advanced knowledge of open-source software, published data, APIs such as GraphQL, and SQL/NoSQL database schemas.
• Deep experience using AI coding tools such as Claude, Copilot, or Cursor.
• Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Firebase, and with web automation tooling and CI/CD deployment.
• 7+ years of backend coding experience, 5+ years of frontend and Angular or React/Next.js experience, and 5+ years with agile methodologies.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Python.
• Experience with NVIDIA Omniverse or another simulation platform.
