TL;DR
Principal Software Engineer (DevX Architecture) (Java/AWS/Kubernetes/AI): Building developer platforms, tooling, authentication services, and reusable frameworks that improve productivity for hundreds of engineers with an accent on agentic development, identity standards, and cloud-native service creation. Focus on designing scalable architecture, establishing engineering guardrails, and solving cross-team reliability, performance, and integration challenges.
Location: Flexible hybrid model; in-person interviews may be required for positions based in Boston or Dublin.
Annual base salary range: $1–$1 USD, plus potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and RSUs.

What you will do
- Design and ship developer tooling, core frameworks, reusable templates, and paved paths that improve engineering productivity and quality.
- Advance the agentic development ecosystem through Claude Code configuration and governance, plugins, skills, and MCP servers.
- Strengthen authentication and agent identity services using Keycloak, OAuth2, and OIDC.
- Build and operate cloud-native services with Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and Kubernetes.
- Define technical standards, guardrails, and best practices, and drive adoption across product teams.
- Lead complex technical initiatives from concept through completion while improving reliability, performance, alignment, and measurable business outcomes.
Requirements
- Eight or more years of hands-on fullstack software design and development experience, including at least five years with Java.
- Experience building performant, large-scale web applications and cloud-native systems on AWS or comparable cloud providers.
- Working knowledge of authentication and identity standards, including OAuth2 and OIDC, or a strong willingness to learn them.
- Hands-on experience applying modern AI coding tools, including assistants, agents, and MCP, to engineering work.
- Experience with testing, observability, scalability, architecture, performance, critical code reviews, and cross-team integration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with client- and server-side JavaScript, React, Node, Remix, and Terraform.
