Senior Finance Manager (Climate Software)

Location: Fully remote within Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, or Slovenia. No work travel is required.

Salary: Market-related by region and based on experience.

What you will do

• Own the finance function, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, transaction tracking, invoices, expenses, and payments.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close, reporting, cash flow management, forecasting, and FP&A.
• Create and maintain project- and department-specific budgets and financial tracking.
• Support payroll across the direct entity and employer-of-record services.
• Maintain compliance with German accounting and tax requirements in collaboration with external tax advisors.
• Improve financial workflows, documentation, controlling solutions, and the accounting and ERP systems.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in accounting, finance, controlling, and/or bookkeeping.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and experience supporting local tax compliance.
• Experience with accounting and financial management tools such as Odoo or Datev, plus Google Sheets and Excel.
• Accurate, detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage financial records autonomously in a remote environment.
• Strong asynchronous communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Fluent English is mandatory; German is useful for communication with certain external vendors but is not required.

• Experience with nonprofit, donor-funded, startup, energy-sector, or open-source organizations.
• Experience in fully remote distributed teams.
• Payroll and invoice processing for employer-of-record services.
• Experience reporting directly to senior leadership.
• Relevant degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
