Salary: $110,600 - $208,000

What you will do

• Lead underwriting strategy and portfolio management to support profitability, retention, and premium growth.
• Manage employer stop loss, medical excess, and ancillary insurance/reinsurance programs from product and portfolio perspectives.
• Perform complex underwriting reviews and make independent decisions within established authority guidelines.
• Develop annual business objectives for partners and identify opportunities for growth within existing relationships.
• Coordinate reinsurance strategies, including negotiations of renewal terms and contractual agreements.
• Lead cross-functional projects, strategic planning initiatives, and mentor team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant insurance experience required.
• 8+ years of employer stop loss underwriting experience preferred.
• 2+ years of experience with reinsurance structures, underwriting, and contract negotiations preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of underwriting philosophy, regulatory requirements, and IFRS/statutory reporting.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with underwriting systems such as Connexure or Kevin Ugan System.
