What you will do

  • Own and evolve the end-to-end payments risk strategy, including merchant onboarding, underwriting, and transaction monitoring.
  • Build fraud prevention and loss mitigation capabilities using AI-assisted solutions and continuous feedback loops.
  • Evaluate and optimize AI-powered fraud and risk platforms to scale operations through automation.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing payments risk and operations team.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to embed risk controls into payment experiences, APIs, and onboarding journeys.
  • Develop risk analytics and reporting to provide real-time operational insights and portfolio-level visibility.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience leading payments risk within a vertical SaaS, marketplace, or fintech environment.
  • 3+ years of recent hands-on experience with payment processing, ACH, and check disbursements.
  • Experience designing and implementing AI-powered decisioning systems or fraud platforms.
  • Strong operational judgment with a track record of building scalable risk functions.
  • Must be based in the United States.
