What you will do

• Evaluate and underwrite assumed reinsurance transactions sourced directly or through intermediaries.
• Underwrite and monitor business produced through program administrators and MGAs, managing rate adequacy and binding authority.
• Provide underwriting judgment and risk assessment for strategic initiatives, including partnerships, investments, and acquisitions.
• Assess the marginal fit and contribution of new business to the overall portfolio.
• Conduct due diligence on the risk profile of target books of business.

Requirements

• 10+ years of P&C underwriting experience spanning both property and casualty lines.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Proven ability to underwrite unfamiliar lines of business and deal structures with minimal ramp-up time.
• Ability to operate independently without a fixed book or single line of accountability.
• Strong analytical judgment for evaluating risk quality in non-standard structures.

Nice to have

• Reinsurance underwriting experience (assumed treaty or facultative business).
• Program or MGA underwriting experience, specifically evaluating delegated authority.
• Experience with underwriting data and analytical tools.
