Fullstack Engineer (Node.js / GraphQL)

TL;DR

Fullstack Engineer (Node.js / GraphQL): Building and evolving the Discover platform for investment discovery and account onboarding with an accent on scalable APIs and AWS serverless technologies. Focus on designing GraphQL-based architectures, optimizing cloud-native services, and improving customer-facing digital experiences.

Location: Hybrid (Bristol, UK). Must be based in the UK; employment sponsorship is not provided.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services powering the Discover platform.
• Build scalable APIs and integrations with internal and external systems using AWS serverless technologies.
• Contribute to platform scalability, resilience, observability, and performance.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to deliver integrated customer journeys across the full stack.
• Take ownership of features and issues from the design phase through to production.
• Drive engineering improvements, automation, and operational excellence within CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and REST API development.
• Experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and event-driven architectures.
• Ability to work with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CDK, or SST.
• Experience with DynamoDB and AWS messaging services (SNS/SQS).
• Exposure to React and TypeScript for building customer-facing web applications.
• Must have the right to work in the UK; employment sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and implementing GraphQL APIs and federation patterns.
• Familiarity with Typesense, Elasticsearch, or Headless CMS platforms like Contentful.
• Experience with PHP-based applications and services.
• Prior experience working within the Financial Services sector.
• Knowledge of observability tooling such as Grafana.
