Senior Software Engineer (Web3)

What you will do

• Identify architectural gaps and deliver robust solutions before they affect users.
• Set technical direction, architectural standards, and engineering practices across the media stack.
• Build and ship full-stack functionality for the website, mobile applications, and high-availability services using Next.js, React, TypeScript, and backend services.
• Own complex features from concept through production in collaboration with product managers, designers, and newsroom partners.
• Mentor engineers through knowledge sharing, code reviews, and technical guidance.
• Establish progressive delivery, feature flags, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and production reliability practices.

Requirements

• 7–8 years of experience shipping production software and demonstrated ownership of a complex, high-traffic system.
• Deep expertise in React, Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, RESTful APIs, and content management platforms.
• Strong knowledge of server-side rendering, advanced caching, and Core Web Vitals optimization.
• Experience with automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using tools such as Playwright and Maestro.
• Experience establishing CI/CD pipelines, applying security practices, and managing production risks with feature flags and telemetry.
• Background designing or maintaining high-volume consumer or media platforms with tens of millions of monthly impressions.

Nice to have

• Experience simplifying and decommissioning legacy infrastructure and services.
• Experience with React Native and Expo for production mobile applications.
• Exposure to Bun, Elysia, Redis, Auth0, Sanity, Google Ad Manager, Stripe, HubSpot, Amplitude, Google Cloud Platform, and Terraform.
