Senior Full Stack Engineer (TypeScript) (Fintech)

Location: Munich, Germany; opportunity to work from abroad and international relocation support are available.

What you will do

• Build and maintain client-facing applications, internal tools, APIs, and microservices.
• Design and operate full-stack systems across frontend interfaces, backend services, asynchronous queues, and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, Design, and Data teams to simplify complex workflows.
• Write secure, testable, maintainable software for a regulated environment.
• Improve architecture, testing, observability, and developer experience while mentoring peers and shaping technical direction.
• Use modern AI tooling to build intelligent product features and improve engineering workflows.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or comparable practical experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, and NestJS.
• Experience building and operating frontend applications and production backend services, including APIs, databases, and serverless functions.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, GraphQL, authentication and authorization patterns, and service-to-service integrations.
• Working knowledge of AWS, Docker, Git, CI/CD, and production observability and debugging.
• Professional fluency in English, strong analytical thinking, ownership, and pragmatic engineering judgment.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, queues, or asynchronous workflows.
• Familiarity with Python, Java, or Kotlin.
• Experience building software in regulated, high-security, or operationally critical environments.
